This tutorial will teach you how to install the software program Joomla using the auto installer Softaculous. To start, go to the main page of the program Softaculous. On the left hand side, you will see a list of all the programs that Softaculous has the ability to manage. Scroll down the list until you find the name Joomla in the menu. Click on the name.
You will be taken to an Overview page about Joomla in the right window, where you can view more information about the software before you install it. When you are ready to install, look to the top of the window, and click on the Install tab. This opens a Software Setup window. The first option is to Choose a Domain, if you have multiple domains associated with this account. You must select the domain to install the software on. The next two boxes require a directory and database name, neither of which should exist on the server.
Under Site Settings, enter a Site Name and Description. These can be changed later on from the application's admin panel. Next, In the Admin Account section, type the desired admin username and password. Also, enter a Real Name, for example, Administrator, that will be displayed and the admin's email. Click Install when you are ready.
This will take you to a congratulations page, that will let you know that the software has been installed correctly. There will be a link to view the new site, and a link to the new admin panel. This concludes this tutorial. You now know how to install Joomla using Softaculous.
